GES·TURNO / GUIDE

Complete GesTurno instructions

Instructions for every module: from the first shift service to groups, backups, permissions and privacy.

1. First launch

Choose language, theme and your preferred starting view. GesTurno works without a mandatory account, so you can create services and keep core data on the device.

2. Work services

Create each service with name, abbreviation, colour, start and end time or fixed hours. Decide whether it counts as worked, adds performed hours, reduces required hours or only marks the day.

3. Calendar and roster

Tap a day to assign a service, note or special condition. Apply date ranges, clear periods, move through months and years, use weekly or annual views and read every shift by abbreviation and colour.

4. Shift patterns

Build sequences from your usual services and apply them from a chosen date to the end you select. When editing a pattern, review whether future planned days should also be updated.

5. Timetables and calculations

GesTurno calculates by timetable, including overnight shifts, or by fixed hours. Configure weekly hours, cycle start, weekends, holidays and night rules so balances match your real work.

6. Hour tracking

Review monthly, yearly, quarterly or four-month summaries with performed, required, balance, night, holiday and weekend hours. Use it as personal control and always compare against official workplace records.

7. Leave, personal days and special marks

Define annual periods, optional leave and personal-day limits, holidays and other marks. Reducing required hours lowers the remaining target without counting absence as performed work.

8. Notes and reminders

Attach notes to specific days, set reminders and use notifications for important alerts. Android may ask for notification, exact-alarm, reboot or background permissions depending on the device.

9. Alarms and widget

Enable shift alerts or create alarms tied to shift times. The widget shows upcoming information without opening the app; allow background and battery exceptions if your phone restricts them.

10. Work directory

Store professional contacts, appointments, labels and reminders apart from your personal phonebook. Import or export common formats such as CSV, Excel or VCF and clear the whole directory when needed.

11. Caller and SMS ID

If you choose GesTurno as Android caller ID, recognised work contacts can be shown without copying them to your personal contacts. It works only when enabled with the relevant permissions.

12. Secure notebook

Save text, photos and local documents inside the app, share them as PDF or export attachments as ZIP. The bin helps recover content before permanent deletion.

13. Password manager

The vault stores credentials and private notes encrypted and protected by secure device lock. There is no remote recovery, so keep passwords and backups carefully.

14. Roster Groups

Create a group with name and alias, invite teammates by QR and share rosters with end-to-end encryption. Matrix shows the full team month, Swaps lets users propose trades, and administration manages members, permissions or ownership.

15. Group sync

When you change services in your calendar, GesTurno prepares group synchronization. A red refresh dot means pending operations; tap it to force sending or processing. Nearby can help sync by Bluetooth and local network when Internet is unavailable.

16. Google Calendar

Google Calendar connection is optional and, while verification is completed, available in the testing programme. After authorisation, GesTurno creates its own secondary calendar and syncs selected shifts there. You can share that calendar as read-only, remove it, disconnect or revoke access from Google. GesTurno does not read or manage your other calendars.

17. Exports

Export the roster by range and format, including PDF or PNG image, then save it on the device or send it through email, WhatsApp or another app. Exported files are outside GesTurno's private storage.

18. Backups

The free basic backup includes calendar, services and general settings. Advanced backup can include calendar, contacts, notes and passwords in an encrypted file; it requires a password GesTurno does not store and may use credits earned through rewarded ads.

19. Ads and privacy

The free version may show Google AdMob and mediated ads. Where required, GesTurno presents consent choices. Core roster, directory, notebook and vault data stays on the device except for external features you enable.

20. Maintenance and deletion

Delete data from app modules, Android settings or by uninstalling. Remember to remove backups, PDFs, images, ZIPs, shared files and Google calendars separately if they were stored outside GesTurno.
